Helenslea Avenue, Residential Development


Helenslea Avenue is a residential development in North-West London on the site of the former Swaminarayan Hindu Temple.  The development includes a mix of 2, 3, and 4 bedroom apartments, with underground parking, and basement CHP provision.  The development is designed to meet Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, which is a +5dB enhancement of The Building Regulations requirements for sound insulation.



SRL were appointed to support Wates during the construction phase of the project to develop proposals for internal constructions, assist the team with the design of mechanical services to meet planning conditions, and commission the constructions once built.



Relying on decades of experience, SRL were able to efficiently review the proposals for the scheme, advise on critical acoustic details, and work closely with the M&E specialist to develop noise control measures for building services.

SRL believe in a hands-on approach once a project is on site and were able to inspect on-site works at key points during the construction programme.  This allowed us to make sure the acoustically important elements were fully addressed, such as the isolating of screed layers, high rated acoustic partitions and junctions, fire stopping, and tricky timber floor junctions within the duplex areas.

By closely working together with Mace, as Development and Project Manager, and Wates through the entire construction period the project achieved the +5dB enhancements of Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 easily, and without any complications.
