Our ecology service assess and address all the sensitive flora and fauna issues to help with planning applications. This includes bat checks and providing advice on low-cost ecological enhancements to help clients with biodiversity, as encouraged under the National Planning Policy Framework. This approach will assist the case for granting planning permission for the development.
We find cost effective ways to resolve any problems. We look to enhance the quality (and thus the value) of each development by offering inexpensive ways to use and improve existing features on the site, rather than simply mitigate.
A report is issued in support of planning to include the plant species observed on site. We look at habitat descriptions and the risk of “ecology issues” (including bats and other protected species) occurring on site and being affected. Any implications in terms of legislation and UK planning policy are highlighted, whilst suggestions on the best courses of actions to minimise the ecological impact as far as is practical are provided.
