Providence Tower

Providence Tower

Background

A 43-storey residential tower block in a large development, New Providence Wharf in London. The tower consists of a mixture of residential dwellings and commercial spaces. Aspects of the building had spectacular views of London which made it a high profiled project.

Challenge

SRL were commissioned to do an external noise break in assessment. This involved reviewing and designing the facade of the building in terms of sound insulation. We also reviewed and provided input to the design of the separating walls and floors in terms of sound insulation. The project had enhanced sound insulation performance requirement.

Solution

Delving into our rich history of involvement in designing residential schemes, we knew what would work and more importantly, what wouldn’t. We managed to work with the design team to come up with cost effective solutions.

The commissioning tests at the end showed that the project met the design criteria in terms of acoustics.
