Women in Construction & Engineering 2023 Consultant Finalist!

Out of 600 nominees one of our principal consultants, Heulwen Peters, was chosen as a finalist for the Consultant category making her one of the 185 finalists across all categories.

This demonstrates Heulwen’s genuine pride in what she does, as well as inspiring those around her, especially female presence in the industry. As part of her nomination, Heulwen said “I work hard to be a role model to other female acousticians, and to young and budding acousticians, to show that we are valuable and recognisable, and that our industry is vital in designing and building mindful acoustic environments. I care deeply about my job role and the industry and want to raise the profile of acoustic consultancy across the construction industry. I am proud to be a woman consultant and to raise the profile of women in construction and engineering roles; inspiring future consultants and engineers, and young girls like my daughter.” “Heulwen is a deserving winner of a WICE award. She is an important and influential member of our team and she delights her clients every day with her pragmatic and conscientious approach. She guides her team helping them be better consultants and works hard to promote and develop SRLs technical capabilities.” – Jack Dalziel, SRL Managing Director Now being a finalist, Heulwen said “I feel very privileged and honoured to be a finalist in the 2023 WICE Awards Consultant category. I am so proud to be representing SRL and the acoustic consultancy industry this year.” The awards ceremony was held on 25th May 2023 and although Heulwen didn’t win in her category, everyone is incredibly proud of her for becoming a finalist – this is an amazing achievement. Congratulations to Emily Thorne of Atkins who took the award home. All the finalists are an inspiration to women in the construction and engineering industry.
