Our collaborative approach to providing industry-leading solutions is the foundation of how we work on projects in the Education sector.
We have worked on hundreds of PFI and refurbished schools, as well as hundreds of Further and Higher Education buildings. Our team has also contributed to the success of the BSF Schools, Academies and PSCIP Schools programme. Currently, we are working on contracts within the new Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP).
By getting involved with the project at the beginning we are able to tailor relevant advice to the scheme’s specific requirements. This approach reduces project costs and gives the client a transparent understanding of the process from the outset.
Our team take pride in delivering creative solutions, extending from acoustic modelling for open plan, complex spaces and the control of sound within teaching areas to reverberation design and planning issues and environmental noise. Achieving a high BREEAM credit rating is also important and we are able to help this be achieved. Our in-depth understanding of the challenges projects in this sector can face means we are also best placed to troubleshoot should an issue arise.
Although schools don’t often generate large amounts of traffic, pupils are sensitive to poor air quality. Our Air Quality team can provide constraints advice and recommendations for mitigation where there is a risk that pupils will be exposed to unacceptable air quality. Where an on-site energy plant is proposed we can provide advice on flue design in order to reduce the risk of impacts both within the site itself and in the surrounding area.
By working closely with all parties, we ensure our solutions meet all requirements and are delivered on time within the pre-agreed budget.
